Savina and Wyl - The Dinner Date

Savina and Wyl enter the common room of the Crown of Roses.  The Kandori pauses and turns to Wyl, "If you select a table, I will be right back."  She offers him a warm smile before scooting off to speak with Mistress Leina.  The Innkeeper and Savina talk quietly for a few moments before the both nod, apparently in agreement as coins are exchanged.  Turning around the green-garbed girl waves to Wyl, holds up a single finger to indicate 'just one minute more' before she dashes back to her room.  About five minutes later she returns, the tunic and breeches exchanged for a dress.  Her hair still done up in a braid but she's without her weapons.

Wyl follows Savina into the common room.  He smiles as she turns to Wyl, and nods in response to her request, heading to a wall-side table, where Wyl will have a view of the north door.  At the table, he nods in response to her request with a single silent chuckle.  As she dashes off, Wyl breaks for a washroom.  When Savina returns, Wyl is at the table.  His hair is wet and combed down, parted with hair out from his eyes, which reflect some of the light from the fireplace and chandelier.  Every smudge of dirt has been removed from his face, and Wyl's pack and spear are also not upon his person.  A close examination would reveal they are against the wall, beside his seat.

Wyl blinks in shock when Savina returns in a dress, his jaw dropping slack.  Suddenly, even more than when he has been here before, he feels significantly out of place.

Savina moves over to the table that Wyl has selected, a smile upon her face.  She offers a small curtsey to him before speaking, "I am sorry I took so long," this is where the girlishness comes out, "I.." her cheeks flush a bit and she opts to change the subject, or at least make someone else the focus of attention. "You look very nice."

Wyl stands up and gives Savina a moderate bow in return to her curtsey.  "Thank you," he smiles back as his cheeks slightly redden.  "I... thought I should look my best, but really for that I'd have to...", his voice trailing off.  After a composing breath, he speaks in a smooth, measured pace, "It was the least I could do, to not look so out of place.  But, look... you're stunning."  "If I may," he walks around to pull out her chair, like someone who actually knows his manners.

A soft, "thank you" is heard as Wyl draws out her chair for her.  Savina sits down, smoothing her skirts before folding her hands in her lap.  "I was not certain what you liked," the blonde glances towards the kitchens where Mistress Leina has returned from, the savory scent of food to come drifts into the room, "so I guessed."  [Savina]

Wyl sets himself down in his seat, after seating Savina.  After she mentions guessing, Wyl curiously turns his head towards the kitchen doors, taking a deep breath of the aromas.  A few teeth show in his grin, as he looks back toward Savina with a smile.  "I'm sure I'll enjoy it, given the company."

Mistress Leina sticks her head back into the kitchen and then she moves aside so that two serving girls can make their way out.  One girl is carrying a teapot with two cups on a tray while the other girl who is a little older is carrying a tray with two plates and a loaf of what appears to be freshly baked bread.  "Here you go," while the older girl sets down the plates - roasted chicken from the look and the smell, greens and potatoes.  The younger girl prepares the tea, filling each cup and setting them before Wyl and Savina.  The teapot, which is full, is placed between the dining guests beside the bread and butter.  "It looks wonderful, thank you both."  Both girls smile and bob their polite curtsies before returning back to their duties.  [Savina]

Wyl takes another deep sniff of the aromas, his eyes closed as he does.  Opening them, he smiles again, "It is wonderful," he says as he glances back between the chicken and tea.  "Shall we?", he says lifting the teacup towards Savina, "To new adventures," he offers with a certain smile, though his eyes betray some uncertainty if a toast is warranted or polite, in this situation.

Savina lifts her cup and joins in with Wyl's toast, "To new adventures."  Even though she does hold to some of the protocol she was raised with, she does like to do things that go against the flow from time to time.  With a wink she takes a sip of her tea, closing her eyes for a moment to truly taste the intricacies of the steeped goodness in the cup.

Wyl takes a sip of the tea, and while not disliking of the taste, still a little shocked at the differences in flavors from what he might have been expecting.  Tilting his head slightly to one side, then another, he then smiles, swallowing it, and returns his glass to the table.  "So, how is it that you're good with a bow, enjoy riding, and also are so refined?", astonished.  He'll properly cut a small piece of chicken, with fork and knife, and take a bite as he awaits a response.

Savina lowers her cup and rests it back upon it's saucer.  She takes the napkin and places it across her lap, "It's an interesting story," she is not as methodical as her twin is when it comes to eating, that is she doesn't have an order to things.  She begins to cut the potatoes into smaller bites. She's not shared much about her family with others, and most everyone she knows or has met knows of her twin, Kavina.  "My mother," she continues her cutting, "is Aes Sedai and my father was one of her warders."  The potatoes done just so she starts to work on the chicken, girls are so weird when it comes to their food.  "My Uncle Benoit, was one of mother's warders as well.  We would stay in Kandor until winter approached and then we would travel south to Murandy, they seemed to think that the winters were less harsh there."  She lays down the knife, her food prepared to her liking at last, and takes a bite of the chicken.  [Savina]

Wyl smiles, "Okay," he says slowly, in response to her first bit.  He then begins cutting his potatoes into manageable bites as well.  He takes a bite of his potato, chewing it slowly as he listens to her story with interest.  He does tense when she mentions Aes Sedai, on edge and nervous for a bit thereafter.  Her continued speech relaxes him.  "Well, that would explain it," he says with a smile.  "Murandy and Kandor?", he asks more to himself than to his date.  "Would you like to hear my, relatively uninteresting, story?", he asks, somewhat guardedly.  He hasn't ever really talked about it outright.

Savina inclines her head a bit to the side curiously, "That would explain what?" she grins at him playfully.  She takes a sip of her tea, and lets be honest if she wasn't raised drinking this particular blend she probably would not have ordered it - black tea with bergamont can be strong.  "Please?  I would love to hear it."

Wyl smiles back to Savina, taking another sip from his tea.  Wyl has drank many things in his day, from sweet to sour, but this tea is so far unique.  He swallows the sip.  Ignoring her first question, he says, "My dad is the last of some minor house in Saldaea, which had tragedy befall it, or at least that's what he's said."  During this, Wyl cuts himself off another piece of chicken, "In any case, he made his way east and south, settled in the woods to the north and east of the city, where he met my mother, Jelka, who has since passed."  Wyl cuts off another piece of chicken, more to prevent him from popping the other in his mouth as he continues speaking, "I've lived there most of my life, though I've explored a lot of the wood, and been northward as far as Tar Valon."  Finished for a moment, Wyl chews on the cuts of chicken he's made for himself.

"I am sorry to hear about your mother," Savina offers a small smile to Wyl, she understands how hard it can be to lose a parent.  "Did you find Tar Valon as... stuffy as I did?"  She takes a sip of her tea and upon lowering the cup she maintains hold on it for a moment, "everyone seemed so stiff backed and scared of their own shadows."  She shakes her head a bit at the memory before taking another sip of her tea.  [Savina]

Wyl leans in and says quietly, "A lot of people in cities are that way, but Tar Valon and those from Cairhien are the worst about it," before sitting straighter.  "I've only been there twice, and those with a friend of my dad's.  She's like an aunt to me.  She and a handful of others live out in the woods, but not close enough to be at each others' doorsteps."  He eats another bite of his chicken, then adds somberly, "It's been good to have so many to rely on when things get tough.  Though, mostly they seem to be scattered far apart in the last couple years."  Looking up at Savina, he smiles warmly, his golden eyes shining from the light, and says with warmth, "It's good to meet someone new I think I can trust."

Savina lowers her cup and rests it on the saucer before eating some more of her meal.  She nods in understanding to Wyl's words.  Once she's cleared her mouth of food she speaks, "I feel very fortunate to have met you as well." Savina gently reaches across the table, her fingertips resting upon Wyl's hand lightly.  She smiles warmly, "Friends and loved ones find us when we need them most but, even when they are not with us we are never without them."

Wyl continues to smile back to Savina, widening and opening, as she touches Wyl's hand.  "That's very true," he says sweetly, his mouth shutting and quirking.  "With them in our hearts, we can accomplish much," he says confidently, his grin showing teeth.

It seems that grins are contagious in the Crown of Roses because even Mistress Leina, who has been watching the pair in the dining area this whole time, wears a broad grin.  However Savina is not aware of Mistress Leina or anyone else in the Inn who is not Wyl.  She looks into his eyes, her own smile warm and showing her teeth.  It is one of those moments when words can take away from the sentiment of the moment.  [Savina]

Wyl, in the back of his mind, is aware of the attention, though pays it no heed as he looks into Savina's eyes, delving deeply into them.  A couple of lines enter his mind, briefly, such as 'You are the shining light in my last couple years,' but these are left unspoken, as to not ruin the moment.  The hand that Savina's is resting upon moves slightly sideways, so instead they can hold hands, sweetly giving hers a squeeze.

Savina gently squeezes his hand back.  She glances down for a moment before slowly rising and resting her other hand upon the tabletop while still holding Wyl's hand.  Now that she's standing she leans forward, careful to not end up in what may be left on her plate or to knock anything over.  Her eyes meet his golden eyes once again as she leans ever closer.  Just as she is about to brush her lips across his she closes her eyes and places a soft kiss upon his lips.

Wyl leans in and up to give her soft lips a kiss back, his eyes closing just before their lips meet.  He holds himself there for a long, warm moment before he withdraws back to his seat, as the rest of the common room may already feel the kiss between the two is too long.  A blush rises from his cheeks, as he bashfully turns his head slightly askance, though his eyes do not leave his dinner companion.

Savina's cheeks are quite rosy, she's happy and now aware of those watching the pair.  The sweet kiss also adding to the rosy shade in her cheeks.  She too resumes her seat taking special care to maintain hold of his hand, her eyes not leaving his.  The Innkeeper smiles and sighs softly, remembering her own younger years and sweet kisses. She then makes the rounds of the tables containing the gawkers giving the two a bit of privacy to finish their evening meal and conversation.
